Der blinde Tiroler Bergsteiger, der (fast) alle Grenzen überwindet Andy Holzer ist einer der faszinierendsten Extremsportler unserer Zeit. Geboren und aufgewachsen in Osttirol, erblindete Andy kurz nach seiner Geburt aufgrund einer genetisch bedingten Netzhauterkrankung. Doch anstatt sich von dieser Einschränkung begrenzen zu lassen, entwickelte Andy schon als Kind einen einzigartigen Zugang zum Leben und der Bergwelt seiner Heimat Tirol. Heute ist er weltweit bekannt als einer von wenigen blinden Bergsteigern, die es geschafft haben, die höchsten Gipfel der Erde zu erklimmen. In diesem Film begleiten wir Andy in seinem Zuhause in Osttirol und in den Felswänden der Lienzer Dolomiten. Andy spricht über seine unerschütterliche Leidenschaft fürs Bergsteigen, wie er die Dolomiten auf seine eigene Weise „sieht“ und wie er nach einem schweren Unfall, bei dem er unter anderem einen Zeigefinger verlor, seine Leidenschaft nicht aufgab. Er nimmt uns mit auf eine Reise durch seine Gedankenwelt und zeigt, dass Sehen für ihn mehr bedeutet als das bloße Augenlicht – es ist die Fähigkeit, wahrzunehmen und Grenzen zu überwinden.

"Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder? Not me, right? Just a fleeting trend, isn't it? Despite growing awareness, there remains stigma and misunderstanding surrounding ADHD. The perception that ADHD is a "trend diagnosis" has emerged due to increased awareness, changes in diagnostic criteria, and societal attitudes toward mental health. My belated diagnosis of ADHD compelled me to acknowledge my struggles and confront them head-on. This realization prompted me to reassess the importance of self-acceptance, steering away from seeking external validation. I questioned how I could confront my inner turmoil and embrace my authentic self. By cultivating an environment that caters to my specific needs and prioritising moments of tranquility over ceaseless productivity, I’m learning to live in the present without excessive rumination. I’m coming to terms with the transient nature of both joy and sorrow, paving the way for newfound CLARITY. In essence, creating my structured routine and fostering a supportive environment, played a pivotal role in handling ADHD.
