This year we are again participating in 36 Days of Type. Like last year, we’re approaching it a little differently. We want to take on the challenge of creating short but quite elaborate animations & simulations given by the respective letter and a theme. The typography itself is not that important, it’s just the starting point for our idea. We want to explore new techniques, create new worlds and ultimately just have fun. INVISIBLE GROUND A snowboard film about vulnerability. __________________________________________________________________________________ After tragic avalanche accidents, professional snowboarders Xavier De Le Rue and Elias Elhardt deeply question their motivation for the potentially life-threatening pursuit of freeriding, which they have dedicated themselves to. During several days in the mountains together, they share personal experiences of extreme risk taking and what being vulnerable actually means to them. By questioning unrealistic ideas of control, Invisible Ground sets out to explore how to obtain a reasonable balance between the love for adventure and a misguided drive to expose oneself. Jahrhundertealte Ahornbäume verlieren ihr Herbstkleid und bereiten sich auf die dunkle Zeit im Jahr vor. "Olles wos aufhead, muas a irgendwonn wida onfongen." Drei Freerider machen sich ins Gebirge auf, immer auf der Suche nach neuem Terrain und neuen Herausforderungen.Was sie nicht wissen, ist: Es gibt etwas da draußen, dass all ihre Schritte beobachtet und versucht, den Grund für diese riskanten Abfahrten zu verstehen. Ein zweijähriges Passion Project über das Freeriden, betrachtet aus einer neuen Perspektive, das Thema selbst kritisch hinterfragend. Ist es moralisch vertretbar, in eine Welt einzudringen, die von seltenen Tieren und Pflanzen bevölkert ist, nur weil wir das Entdecken so sehr lieben? STELLUNGNAHME: Während unserer Filmarbeiten haben wir unwissentlich Regeln im Naturschutzgebiet gebrochen. Wir sind uns der Ernsthaftigkeit dieses Vergehens bewusst und beziehen folgende Stellungnahme: Aufgewachsen in den Bergen, schätzen und lieben wir seit jeher die Natur mit all ihre Facetten. Sie mit unserer Kamera zu dokumentieren war für uns also immer eine Normalität. In Zeiten von Social Media ist es essentiell zu wissen, dass die Veröffentlichung von Bildern große Verantwortung mit sich zieht. Das gilt für jeden da draußen. Die Natur zu bewahren, zu schützen, sie als unser wichtigstes Gut zu sehen und ihr mit Respekt gegenüber zu treten. Schöne Plätze auch mal für sich zu behalten. Wir fühlen uns motiviert dazu, immer weiter zu lernen, zu verstehen, zu respektieren. Wir möchten auch, dass bekannt ist, dass Tiere durch unsere Dreharbeiten nicht in Gefahr gebracht wurden.
